Israel = 8,020 square miles
Lebanon = 4,020 square miles
North and south Palestine (West Bank and Gaza) = 2,410 square miles
Ohio = 40,950 square miles
Franklin County, Ohio = 543 square miles
Worthington, Ohio = 6.4 square miles

Population:
Israel = 6 million (1999)
Palestine = 2.8 million (1999)
Ohio = 11 million (2000)
Franklin County = 1 million (2000)

Jewish settlements in:
North Palestine (West Bank and East Jerusalem) = 246
South Palestine (Gaza Strip) = 0

Per capita gross domestic product (2003/4):
Israel = $20,800
Palestine = $800

UNITED NATIONS UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. The Declaration has seven Whereases and 30 Articles. Selected parts of the Declaration are given below. A copy of the full Declaration is printed in the book The Human Rights Reader. [See Pages 407-412 in Ref. 5 below] [X]

"The General Assembly proclaims this Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, to the end that every individual and every organ of society, keeping this Declaration constantly in mind, shall strive by teaching and education to respect for these rights and freedoms and by progressive measures, national and international, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the peoples of Member states themselves and among the peoples of territories under jurisdiction."

"Article 13
1. Everyone has the right of freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state.
2. Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country."

"Article 17
1. Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.
2. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property."

UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTION 242
On November 22, 1967 the United Nations Security Council Resolution 242 was adopted unanimously. Part of the Resolution reads as shown below. The full text of Resolution 242 is printed in the book The Art of the Possible on Page 157 [Ref. 1 below] [X]

1. Affirms that the fulfillment of Charter principles requires the establishment of a just and lasting peace in the Middle East which should include the application of both the following principals:
   (i) Withdrawal of Israel armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict [Bold added];
   (ii) Termination of all claims or states of belligerency and respect for an acknowledgement of the sovereignty of every State in the area and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized borders from threats of acts of force;
2. Affirms further the necessity
   (a) For guaranteeing freedom of navigation through international waterways in the area;
   (b) For achieving a just settlement of the refugee problem [Bold added];
   (c) For guaranteeing the territorial inviolability and political independence of every State in the area, through measures including the establishment of demilitarized zones;
